Expansion Lead

iProcure is an Agri-tech company with a Mission to lower the cost of production for farmers, through data-driven optimization of Farm input distribution channels. iProcure operates a national network of distribution centers across three (3) countries supported by our proprietary supply chain technology which facilitates rapid delivery/fulfillment, accurate forecasting, and positioning of inventory. We currently supply over 1 Million commercial smallholder farmers in East Africa through a network of thousands of tech-enabled Agro-dealers.

  • Building our understanding of the markets both directly (by spending time in-country with existing practitioners) and indirectly (using third party research) and using our own data;
  • Developing our entry strategy for each country;
  • Developing the business plan for the entry into the country;
  • Ensure all expansion activities (i.e. Incorporation, Licensing, Tax & Finance, Partnerships, etc.) areconcluded in the designated market in line with best practices and regulatory standards
  • Building the team required to execute on the entry strategy;
  • Identifying and contracting with the partners required to execute on the entry strategy;
  • Acquiring the assets required to execute on the entry strategy;
  • Developing the product mix, pricing strategy and supply terms for the entry;
  • Executing the plan, monitoring performance and, based on the performance, iterating the entry strategyas necessary;
  • Developing an in-country leadership team;
  • Handing over the leadership of the new country to the in-country leadership team;
  • Manage the expansion team budget and new country budget (both revenue and costs);
  • Train mentor and onboard new team members.
  • Background in business related field with an understanding of business principles, practices, and methodologies.
  • Preferably 5+ years of working experience in Business development/Strategic partnerships management or any other related line of work
  • Entrepreneurial experience in supporting new markets or warning in a startup environment.
  • Experience expanding businesses into new countries across the region.
