Avocado Oil Production Supervisor

This role primarily focuses on production, while also supporting warehouse and inventory management functions. It ensures that raw materials are properly received and ripened, products are processed according to customer requirements, and orders are fulfilled within established timelines.

Responsibilities

Production Operations

• Supervise day-to-day production activities to ensure adherence to the production schedule provided by the Production Coordinator.

• Ensure smooth movement of fruits and materials between the warehouse and processing areas.

• Monitor production flow and escalate equipment, staffing, or operational issues to the Production Coordinator.

• Ensure processing activities follow SOPs and quality requirements.

Warehouse Operations

• Supervise fruit offloading, sorting, and stacking in the warehouse.

• Ensure proper handling of fruits to minimize damage and losses.

• Ensure FRFO is followed when issuing fruits to production.

• Maintain organized warehouse storage and clear movement pathways.

Inventory & Stock Monitoring

• Monitor fruit intake and daily movement of stock between the warehouse and production.

• Ensure warehouse clerks accurately record stock movement.

• Support stock reconciliation between the warehouse and production teams.

Team Supervision

• Supervise production and warehouse staff, forklift operators, clerks, and casual workers during the shift.

• Assign daily tasks and monitor completion of operational activities.

• Ensure team members follow safety, hygiene, and operational procedures.

• Escalate performance or staffing concerns to the Coordinators.

Quality, Safety & Food Safety

• Ensure fruit handling and production activities meet quality standards as guided by the quality team.

• Maintain hygienic conditions across the warehouse and production areas.

• Ensure compliance with Safety, Health, Environment and Quality (SHEQ) procedures.

• Support implementation of the Food Safety Management System (FSMS) during daily operations.

Waste & Loss Monitoring

• Monitor fruit waste and damage during offloading, sorting, and processing.

• Ensure waste is recorded and handled according to procedures.

• Escalate abnormal loss levels to supervisors.

Reporting

• Report on various metrics across production and warehouse operations. 

• Provide daily updates on fruit intake, warehouse operations, and production activities.

• Escalate operational issues affecting production or warehouse performance.

Qualifications

For this role specifically, you will have:

Technical skills and knowledge

• Minimum academic Qualification: Diploma/certificate in Mechanical, Agricultural, or Production Engineering or equivalent qualifications from a recognized University/college.

• Work Experience: 2+ years of working experience in Avocado Oil as a production or warehouse supervisor, or experience in production, warehousing, or as a quality Supervisor in a manufacturing industry. Food manufacturing/processing is an added bonus.

• Knowledge and experience in the Food Safety Management System, Environmental, and Occupational Health and Safety in the workplace.

• Attention to detail: Ensures all your tasks are completed to the processing needs.

• Problem-solving: Establish root cause and find solutions to meet the required processing target.

• Analytical skills: Have the ability to identify a problem, investigate to find out relevant facts, and find a logical solution.

• Written and verbal communication: Strong verbal communication skills can help you explain ways to improve processes to other people so they can achieve set quality standards.
